The Kerala Government has decided to open special session courts to ensure speedy trial of cases against womenand children. Speaking to the media Chief Minister Oommen Chandy said that 18 additional posts would be created for the courts. The first court would be in Kochi. The draft of Kerala Protection of Privacy and Dignity of Women Bill, 2013, would be published soon, he added. The Delhi-gang rape case served as the impetus for setting up a special court to deal with offences against women and children.
