News Title New pension scheme soon: Kerala Health Minister
News Contents Kochi: State Health Minister P K Sreemathi today said that a new pension scheme named ''Aaswasa Kiranam'' meant for poor and bed-ridden patients would be introduced soon. The beneficiaries will get Rs 300 monthly under this scheme. The Minister was inaugurating the fourth anniversary celebrations of Navajeevan, a charitable dialysis centre. She said, ''Life style diseases are posing great threat to the younger population now a days and efforts should be made to prevent such diseases. Diabetes is very prevalent in the socity and is posing a threat to all age groups.'' Cost of treatment was also sky rocketing and the common people were suffering a lot due to this, she said. Importance should be give to precautions, so that various diseases could be prevented, the minister added. Justice V R Krishna Iyer presided over the function. --UNI
