Vidya Balan appointed Brand Ambassador for promoting Sanitation in India
Noted Bollywood actor Vidya Balan was roped in by the Ministry of Rural Development and the Ministry of Drinking Water and Sanitation as brand ambassador to spread awareness about sanitation and cleanliness in the country.
Rs 78,251 crore was the total gender budget for last financial year.
Minister for Women and Child Development, Smt. Krishna Tirath in a written reply to a question in the Lok Sabha has said that the system of Gender Budgeting has been put in place by the Government.

The cabinet has approved the 'Sexual Offences Against Children Bill'. The bill protects children against acts of sexual harassment and assault and proposes stringent punishment for the offenders.
